| Emission trading workshop for the Croatian government |
In the beginning of October representatives of the Croation Environmental Agency (AZO) and the Croatian Ministry of Environment visited the Netherlands to learn all about CO2-emission trading. Meta Schouten instructed them during a 2-day workshop on all the ins and outs on the European legislation, the content of monitoring plans and how to validate these monitoring plans. The AZO consists of 2 motivated persons who will be responsible for all activities concerning the EU-emission trading scheme. Before the 1st of January 2010 they have to validate 80 monitoring plans. The workshop was a real eye-opener for them. After their 3 days in Holland, they were confident to be able to implement emission trading in their own country. |
